01 What is Am I Nima?
You play Nima, a girl who wakes in a basement with no reliable memory. The woman across the room says she is your mother. To leave, you have to pass her tests and convince her that you are really her daughter.
Words found in the environment become a vocabulary inside Nima’s mind. Combine them to form new thoughts, then choose which thought to say aloud. The demo turns that idea into a tense point-and-click conversation game; the full release expands it to five chapters, 230+ words and 13 endings.
02 The word mechanic
The demo’s recipes are not just puzzle keys. They are character notes, accusations and memories. These examples are verified in demo footage or a hands-on preview.
The mind does not give you one answer. It gives you the vocabulary to hurt or comfort someone.
Word-network illustration by Nima Archive. Recipes verified in the public demo; full-game combinations will differ.
03 Reading the screen
Every element is doing narrative work. The library remembers what Nima has learned; the mind shows what she can become; the dialogue box is the only place where that becomes dangerous.

Full news timeline →HO! Games moved the launch from October 8 to November 27, 2026. The same post confirmed five environments, 300+ inspectable objects, more than 15 tests across five chapters, 230+ words, 5,000+ possible word combinations and 13 endings in the full game.
The Story-Rich Showcase trailer announced an October 8, 2026 release date. A September 5 development update changed that date to November 27. The earlier date is kept here for transparency, not as current information.
HO! Games brought the demo to BitSummit Punch in Kyoto from May 22–24, 2026. The studio said this was the demo’s first Japanese localization and that Am I Nima had been nominated for the event’s Vermillion Gate Award.
A demo anniversary update showed a revamped, more animated Mom sprite, a boiler room, bathroom changes, new tests and the addition of an audio designer. The developers credited Outersloth funding with expanding the game’s scope.

06 People file
Nima, Mom, a dead father, a pet fish called James Pond, and a second voice that may not be any of them. We separate what the demo shows from what fans suspect.

08 Quick answers
HO! Games currently lists Am I Nima for November 27, 2026 on PC via Steam. The game was previously scheduled for October 8, 2026; that date was moved on September 5, 2026. No exact unlock time has been announced.
Yes. A free demo launched on Steam on February 23, 2025. It contains Chapter 1 and roughly half of Chapter 2, according to HO! Games. The demo is still listed on Steam and has an Overwhelmingly Positive review summary at the time of writing.
The current Steam page only marks Windows as supported. A Mac demo build exists and some 2026 press material mentioned Windows and Mac, but full-release Mac support has not been re-confirmed. We treat PC as the only confirmed launch platform.
HO! Games says the full game will contain more than 230 unique words and more than 5,000 ways to combine them. The demo contains a much smaller sample. The developer’s count excludes “Tomato Boy” words.
HO! Games has confirmed 13 endings for the full game. The studio has not revealed their names, conditions or how much the endings diverge. The demo contains a scripted final sequence and should not be treated as a preview of all 13 outcomes.
09 One last warning
It includes implied violence toward a child, eye mutilation, child neglect, and imagery of bugs, spiders and worms. The full game carries the same official mature-content description. The horror is psychological, but that does not make it gentle.
